Hosting a holiday party can be challenging, no matter how many times you’ve done it. Here are some tips to take the stress out of hosting Thanksgiving, so you can have as much fun as your guests.
Consider a Potluck Style Dinner
Even though you’re hosting, it doesn’t mean you have to be the one to cook every dish. Consider making your dinner a potluck, and ask guests to bring items like stuffing, veggies, or dessert.
Do Thanksgiving Eve Prep
You can make your cooking experiences much easier by prepping as much as possible the night before. Chop veggies and fruits and measure out other ingredients, labeling them for each recipe so they’re easy to find and use the day of.
Set the Table Early
Setting the table is another thing you can do early to give yourself more time to relax on the holiday. While you’re getting out your dishes, make sure you also have all of the appliances and cooking dishes you need out and ready.
There’s no steadfast rule that says Thanksgiving hosts have to make dessert from scratch. If dessert is on your list of items, consider buying your festive pie or cake from a local bakery. Just be sure to order it ahead of time so you can be sure you get what you want.
